† = Claritypoint calculation. Every figure carrying this mark was computed by Claritypoint from the public source files listed under Sources — counts, sums, medians, averages, percentages, coverage rates, shares, per-capita rates, percentiles, distributions, and composite or index values. Claritypoint calculations are not published, reviewed, approved, or endorsed by any federal agency and must not be cited or reported as agency figures. Figures without the mark are reproduced as the source agency published them.
Summary
Garden County, Nebraska has 2 Designated and 0 Proposed for Withdrawal — 2 HRSA Health Professional Shortage Area designations in this vintage (Primary Care: 1, Dental: 0, Mental Health: 1).
Highest published HPSA score among designations attributed to this county is 19 (primary care/mental health 0-25; dental 0-26; higher indicates greater shortage priority) (national median 18 across 3174 counties; 84th percentile in-state (91 counties)). Scores are not averaged.
HPSA designations support workforce programs (e.g., loan repayment eligibility context) — they are not a forecast of commercial demand or a quality ranking of providers.
Data vintage: Downloaded 2026-10-16 (HRSA refreshes nightly).
First reviewed edition. Change tracking for this county began with the HRSA download 2026-10-16 · BLS QCEW 2025 · ACS 5-year 2020-2024 data vintage. There is no earlier reviewed edition for comparison; later reviewed editions may identify changes in HRSA designations and scores.

Methodology
- Methods note. This brief is one county and one reviewed edition. Designated and Proposed-for-Withdrawal rows are included; Withdrawn rows are excluded. HPSA score, FTE short, underserved population, and formal ratio stay on the designation that published them and are not added into a county total. The highest published score is a maximum, not an average. Each source keeps its own measurement period and retrieval date. Profile, designation, MUA/P, wage, and benchmark counts use different denominators; those counts are stated once below.
- Source: HRSA HPSA / MUA-P / FQHC public download files, BLS QCEW annual county files, and Census ACS population, compiled offline into a committed, vintage-stamped data artifact (workforce-artifact-2.0.0) covering 3222 counties. The vintages cited are the real download dates.
- Sourced vs. derived figures: values reproduced exactly as the publishing agency released them carry no mark. Figures Claritypoint computed from those files are marked † — counts, sums, medians, averages, percentages, coverage rates, shares, per-capita rates, percentiles, distributions, and composite or index values. Claritypoint calculations are Claritypoint's alone: no agency publishes, reviews, approves, or endorses them, and they must not be cited as agency data.
- Designated and Proposed-for-Withdrawal designations are included; Withdrawn designations are excluded. Rows are deduped by (HPSA ID, county). Each designation's HRSA status is reproduced unchanged; the Designated / Proposed-for-Withdrawal counts are Claritypoint tallies of that published status.
- Discipline counts and the highest score are Claritypoint calculations over published designation rows. HRSA publishes no county rollup.
- FTE short, underserved population, and formal ratios are shown on each designation row and are not added together. Geographic, population, and facility designations overlap, and a designation can span more than one county, so a sum would count the same people or the same shortage more than once. There is no FTE-per-100,000 percentile for the same reason. HPSA scores are not pooled into a county median. The highest published score is the maximum among designations attributed to this county, not an average.
- County counts in this edition are not one denominator. There are 3,222 county and county-equivalent profiles (the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico). 3,174 have at least one included HPSA designation and 48 are a real zero. 3,213 have an attributable MUA/P block and 3,182 have a QCEW wage block. A benchmark's n is only the counties with a value for that metric, so it can be smaller than 3,222.
- BLS QCEW industry cells (employment, establishments, average weekly wage, average annual pay) are reproduced exactly as BLS published them. The combined employment measure is a Claritypoint sum of disclosed NAICS 621 + 623; 6216 is a subset of 621 and is not added again. It excludes hospitals (622), government and self-employment. If either component is absent or suppressed the combined measure is unavailable, not a partial total.
- Population 65+ is a Claritypoint sum of the published Census ACS age bands; total population is the published ACS estimate.
- Complete normalized designation, MUA/P and FQHC site rows are retained. All county and discipline metrics are calculated over the complete record set; display pagination does not change totals. Null means the source did not publish a usable value, not an omitted table row.
- Safety-net context (MUA/P designations and FQHC service-delivery sites) is summarized from the same HRSA download files. QCEW pay is a payroll-per-job average, not a median or an occupation salary; suppressed cells are not available.
- State and national comparisons are Claritypoint calculations for designation count and highest published score only. FTE-per-population rates are not benchmarked. No agency publishes these comparisons.
- Sellable threshold: ≥1 included HRSA designation (Designated or Proposed for Withdrawal) in county.
- Missing values are never imputed as zero.
Limitations
- HPSA boundaries can be sub-county; county rollups may include population-targeted designations that do not cover the entire county.
- FTE short, underserved population, and formal ratios are not county totals. The overlap note states why.
- Scores and FTE short change when HRSA updates designations — always check the as-of vintage.
- Reference periods differ by dataset: HRSA designations are as of the download date (2026-10-16); QCEW wages cover calendar 2025; population is ACS 5-year 2020-2024.
- BLS QCEW wage/employment figures are county private-ownership averages for broad healthcare NAICS — they are not occupation-specific or median wages, and small-county cells may be suppressed and shown as not available.
- This is a one-time market-screening and preliminary-diligence starter, not investment, staffing, or financial advice, and not a recommendation to open a clinic or apply for any program.
- Not medical advice; not affiliated with or endorsed by HRSA, HHS, CMS, BLS, Census, or HUD.
