The line between a portable power station and a full-fledged home battery system has never been more blurred. EcoFlow’s Delta Pro Ultra isn’t just an incremental update; it’s a bold reimagining of what backup power can be. This modular behemoth aims to deliver grid-level reliability without the complexity of traditional installations.

The performance specifications of the Delta Pro Ultra are, frankly, staggering. At its core, the system pairs a powerful inverter with a stackable 6kWh LiFePO4 battery pack. The inverter delivers a continuous 7200W of pure sine wave power with a surge capacity of 10.8kW, and it can output both 120V and 240V simultaneously. In practical terms, this isn’t just enough to keep your lights and refrigerator on during an outage; it’s enough to run a central air conditioner, a clothes dryer, and a well pump all at once. For those with extreme power needs, you can stack up to 15 battery packs for a colossal 90kWh of capacity and chain three inverters together for 21.6kW of output. This level of power and scalability was previously the exclusive domain of professionally installed, permanent systems.

EcoFlow has embraced a design that is both functional and surprisingly refined. The system is split into two main components: the inverter and the battery. Both are housed in sleek, gray metal and high-quality plastic casings that feel exceptionally robust. While “portable” is in the name, at over 186 lbs (84.6 kg) for a single inverter and battery, this isn’t something you’ll casually toss in your car. It’s more accurately described as a “relocatable” system, aided by a well-designed dolly that comes included. The modular, stacking design is a clever solution for garage or utility room placement, allowing for a clean, vertical installation that minimizes its footprint.

Where the Delta Pro Ultra truly distances itself from the competition is in its feature set and ecosystem integration. The system can be charged at an astonishing rate via a 30A AC outlet, solar panels (up to 5.6kW), or even a gas generator. The real magic, however, happens when you pair it with the EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2. This device transforms the Delta Pro Ultra from a simple backup unit into an intelligent, whole-home uninterruptible power supply (UPS). The transfer time is a legitimate 0ms for circuits connected to the inverter, meaning your computers, servers, and other sensitive electronics will never even notice the grid went down. The entire system is managed through EcoFlow’s polished mobile app, which provides detailed monitoring, control over charging and discharging parameters, and energy usage analytics.

The value proposition is complex and depends heavily on your needs. For the price of a base unit, which is considerable, you are getting a system that rivals the performance of a Tesla Powerwall but with added flexibility. You can take it with you in an RV, use it at a remote job site, and then seamlessly reintegrate it into your home. However, this flexibility comes at the cost of genuine portability, and the system’s cooling fans can become quite audible under heavy load, which is a critical consideration for placement. For those simply needing to charge phones on a camping trip, this is absolute overkill. But for homeowners, off-gridders, or professionals who require an immense amount of reliable, relocatable power, the Delta Pro Ultra creates a category of its own. It’s a serious investment, but it delivers an equally serious and versatile solution.
