In the crowded arena of true wireless earbuds, it takes more than just good sound to stand out. It requires ambition. With the Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro, Anker isn’t just releasing another pair of earbuds; it’s making a statement. Packed with a dual-driver system, personalized noise cancellation, head-tracking spatial audio, and even a heart rate monitor, this is Anker’s audacious attempt to deliver a flagship experience without the flagship price tag. But does this feature-stuffed contender truly challenge the titans from Sony and Apple, or is it a case of too much, too soon?

Design and Comfort

From the moment you handle the Liberty 4 Pro, the premium aspirations are clear. The charging case features a satisfying slide-to-open mechanism, complete with a subtle interior light that illuminates the buds. While the case is primarily plastic, it feels sturdy and pocketable. The earbuds themselves adopt a familiar stemmed design but are finished in a high-gloss plastic that, while looking sleek initially, is an undeniable magnet for fingerprints.

Comfort is a standout success. Anker includes four sizes of its unique dual-layer “CloudComfort” ear tips, which are exceptionally soft and create a secure yet gentle seal. This design not only aids passive noise isolation but also ensures they remain comfortable during long listening sessions. The fit is stable enough for workouts, and the IPX4 rating provides peace of mind against sweat and light rain.

Audio Performance and Features

Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro Image 3

At the heart of the Liberty 4 Pro lies its ACAA 3.0 coaxial dual-driver system, which pairs a dynamic driver for bass with a balanced armature for mids and highs. The result is a sound profile that is both powerful and surprisingly detailed. Out of the box, the sound is energetic with a slight emphasis on the bass and treble, but the magic lies in the Soundcore app. With support for the high-resolution LDAC codec and a deeply customizable EQ via the HearID sound test, you can tailor the audio precisely to your hearing and preference. This level of personalization is a huge win, allowing the Liberty 4 Pro to punch well above its weight in audio fidelity.

The feature set is where Anker truly goes all-in. The head-tracking spatial audio is an interesting addition, creating a more immersive soundstage for supported content, though its implementation feels a step behind Apple’s polished ecosystem. The in-ear heart rate sensor is a novel inclusion, offering health tracking data directly within the Soundcore app. While it’s not a replacement for a dedicated fitness tracker, it’s a unique bonus. More practical is the excellent multipoint Bluetooth connectivity, allowing seamless switching between two devices.

However, the active noise cancellation (ANC) is where the Liberty 4 Pro shows its place in the market. The personalized HearID ANC does a respectable job of tuning out low-frequency drones like engine hum, but it struggles against more complex, variable sounds like office chatter or traffic. It’s good, but it simply doesn’t reach the isolating silence provided by class leaders like the Sony WF-1000XM5 or Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds.

The Verdict

The Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro is a testament to what’s possible when a company aggressively pushes features into a more accessible price bracket. It delivers a fantastic, highly customizable audio experience, excellent comfort, and a suite of features—like health tracking and multipoint—that are genuinely useful. While its ANC performance and the polish on its spatial audio don’t quite dethrone the premium flagships, they don’t need to. For the tech enthusiast who loves to tinker with settings and wants a feature-rich experience without paying a top-tier price, the Liberty 4 Pro is an incredibly compelling package and one of the best values in the true wireless market today.
