The Featherweight Champion Returns: Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Review

Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Image 1

The Logitech G Pro X Superlight redefined the wireless gaming mouse. Its combination of minimalist design, exceptional sensor, and impossibly light weight made it an instant classic, dominating esports and captivating enthusiasts. Now, the Superlight 2 arrives, promising to build upon that legacy. Does it succeed, or is it merely a marginal upgrade coasting on its predecessor’s success? Let’s dive in.

The heart of any gaming mouse is its sensor, and the Superlight 2 doesn’t disappoint. It boasts Logitech’s new HERO 2 sensor, capable of tracking up to 32,000 DPI and boasting a blistering 500+ IPS. In practical terms, this translates to pinpoint accuracy and incredibly responsive tracking. Whether you’re pixel-peeking in Valorant or making broad sweeps in Apex Legends, the sensor feels consistently reliable and precise. The enhanced responsiveness is immediately noticeable, particularly when switching from the original Superlight or other older mice.

Design-wise, the Superlight 2 maintains the minimalist aesthetic of its predecessor. It’s still remarkably lightweight, tipping the scales at around 60 grams. This featherlight build contributes significantly to effortless flick shots and reduced fatigue during long gaming sessions. The overall shape remains largely unchanged, which will please fans of the ambidextrous design. However, the slight adjustments to the side buttons offer improved tactile feedback. The shell’s texture is slightly altered providing more grip.

Logitech has also addressed some of the original Superlight’s shortcomings. The battery life has been bumped up to an impressive 95 hours, eliminating range anxiety during extended gaming marathons. Charging via USB-C is a welcome addition, bringing it in line with modern devices. The inclusion of LIGHTSPEED wireless technology ensures a stable and low-latency connection, essential for competitive gaming. However, the mouse feet, while improved, still feel slightly less premium compared to some aftermarket options.

The Superlight 2’s software integration with Logitech G HUB remains straightforward. You can customize DPI settings, button assignments, and polling rate. While the software is functional, some users may find it bloated and resource-intensive. The G HUB software could benefit from a streamlining update to better match the simplicity of the mouse itself.

Ultimately, the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 is a refined and improved version of an already excellent gaming mouse. The enhanced sensor, improved battery life, and USB-C charging are all worthwhile upgrades. However, the price point remains a significant barrier to entry. The Superlight 2 represents a top-tier option for competitive gamers and enthusiasts who demand the best performance and are willing to pay a premium. For casual gamers, the original Superlight, often available at a lower price, still represents a compelling option.
